The road to Cycling Zandvoort 2021

Dear cycling enthusiast,

The winter weather seems to have disappeared for this year, and spring is just around the corner. With the rising temperatures and a nice amount of sun, it is perfect weather to go cycling again! For the first time in a long time, the corona measures have been reduced again, and we have all been looking forward to that moment. Now that most shops, hairdressers and sports facilities can partly open their doors again, we are also looking forward to having the edition of Cycling Zandvoort 2021 take place.
For the time being we are still dependent on the reductions of corona measures to come, but we are looking forward with good courage!

Although we all depend on the choices of the government about further reductions of the corona measures, we as an organization do everything we can to organize a safe, sporty, corona-proof and yet fun edition of Cycling Zandvoort. With or without an audience, with or without a 24-hour race… .as long as we are allowed to cycle!

Last September, we as an organization were able to organize beautiful and safe cycling events with various March rules under various covid-19 measures. Based on this expertise, we hope to be able to get back to work in June. The circuit is of course a nice location to close, with enough space for everyone. We can organize the event completely in the open air.

Although there are currently still various travel restrictions in force, we also hope that the travel advice will be relaxed, so that we can also welcome our foreign participants on the Zandvoort circuit!
Registration for the 24 hour race, the 6 hour race and the 3 hour race is open.

If the event cannot take place due to covid-19, there is a guarantee on a refund of the registration fee of 75% and on the accommodation (pit box or camping pitch) 100%. In any case, we will do everything we can to be able and to be able to organize the event. Hopefully we will see you on the 12th and 13th of June at the circuit in Zandvoort!

Cycling Zandvoort 2020, riding for world bicycle relief!

World Bicycle Relief has become the charity of Cycling Zandvoort. The cycling event at Circuit Zandvoort will be held on 13 and 14 June 2020. It is the first cycling event to be held after Formula 1 has been visited. Unique of course, to ride on the asphalt with your friends on which Max Verstappen has also been in action

Racing

The weekend will consist of a 24-hour race and a 6-hour race. Participants can participate as a soloist, or in teams of 2, 4 or 8 people. Each team tries to cover as much distance as possible in the form of a relay. A water bottle with a transponder in it serves as a relay stick, this is passed on in the change zone. How long a team member drives before he or she alternates, is up to the team itself. Everyone chooses their own strategy. In addition to the races, there are various product testing options and, after the 24-hour race, there is the cycling section of the triathlon on the Circuit.

Good vibes

Teams stay in pit boxes or at the paddock campsite. That makes it an attractive, festival-like setting. Team members who do not drive get a rest here or are pampered by caretakers of their teams with a massage or a freshly baked pancake. Friends and acquaintances of the teams can come by for free and encourage their favorites. Participating in the 24-hour race is of course unique, you drive into the night on a summer evening and head towards the morning. Teams that have a little less time, or who for the first time a day around what seems too challenging, will ride the 6-hour race. Cycling Zandvoort thus offers a great challenge for every cyclist, fanatic and recreational.

Charity: World Bicycle Relief

World Bicycle Relief is an international, non-profit organization that specializes in large-scale, extensive bicycle distribution programs to eliminate poverty in developing countries. With its funds raised, World Bicycle Relief uses bicycles. These bicycles bring mobility so that people can follow training, get to work, receive medical care and, in particular, bring better opportunities to women. During Cycling Zandvoort cycling is done to pay for these bikes.

The collaboration with World Bicyce Relief will will be completed in the coming period. For more information about World Bicycle Relief, visit www.worldbicyclerelief.org.

New: 3 hour race for solo riders

On Sunday morning, June 14, the 3-hour race for soloists will start at 10 a.m. This new race is a low-threshold way to get acquainted with Cycling Zandvoort and is ideal to combine if you do not have time for the 24-hour race.

During Cycling Zandvoort you will be the first to cycle on the renewed Grand Prix Circuit after the fast men like Max Verstappen have been in action here, super cool right ?! You can complete the race as you wish: racing fast on a perfect track, without traffic lights and thresholds, or enjoying the beautiful surroundings and all the innovations of Circuit Zandvoort.
