World Bicycle Relief has become the charity of Cycling Zandvoort. The cycling event at Circuit Zandvoort will be held on 13 and 14 June 2020. It is the first cycling event to be held after Formula 1 has been visited. Unique of course, to ride on the asphalt with your friends on which Max Verstappen has also been in action
Racing
The weekend will consist of a 24-hour race and a 6-hour race. Participants can participate as a soloist, or in teams of 2, 4 or 8 people. Each team tries to cover as much distance as possible in the form of a relay. A water bottle with a transponder in it serves as a relay stick, this is passed on in the change zone. How long a team member drives before he or she alternates, is up to the team itself. Everyone chooses their own strategy. In addition to the races, there are various product testing options and, after the 24-hour race, there is the cycling section of the triathlon on the Circuit.
Good vibes
Teams stay in pit boxes or at the paddock campsite. That makes it an attractive, festival-like setting. Team members who do not drive get a rest here or are pampered by caretakers of their teams with a massage or a freshly baked pancake. Friends and acquaintances of the teams can come by for free and encourage their favorites. Participating in the 24-hour race is of course unique, you drive into the night on a summer evening and head towards the morning. Teams that have a little less time, or who for the first time a day around what seems too challenging, will ride the 6-hour race. Cycling Zandvoort thus offers a great challenge for every cyclist, fanatic and recreational.
